(32-40 h per week) to strengthen our Dry Lab team.

EV Biotech is a biotechnology company that creates microbial production platforms for high-value chemicals and proteins using computational modelling and microorganisms. By combining classical fermentation methods with the latest developments in modelling approaches we have revolutionised the methods of microbial strain engineering. Our microbial cells factories (MCFs) provide effective, bio-based alternatives to conventional chemical-synthetic production processes. Our Groningen-based team has been operational since July 2018 and is dedicated to EV’s mission to evolve the chemical feedstock market by shifting it from petrochemical-based to bio-based chemical production, thereby creating a greener economy for all.
We are looking for a Modelling Analyst to strengthen our Dry Lab team (32-40 h per week).
Scope of the position:
In this position, you will be involved in the execution of all Dry Lab operations. You will be responsible for performing the Dry Lab experiments described in the pipeline. You will run computational models and simulations and assist in the development and testing of new software tools.
Replicate scientific articles;
Perform routine analysis with existing algorithms;
Document the results for an interdisciplinary team;
Maintain existing simulation scripts;
Assist with development and testing of new software tools;
Assist with literature search for feasibility studies for on-demand MCF development.
BSc in Bioinformatics, Data Science, or related field;
Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python;
Affinity towards Biochemistry;
Experience/Familiarity with Omics analysis, Genome Scale Modeling, Enzyme kinetic modeling is a plus;
Familiarity with tools for computational biology, e.g. Cobrapy, PySces, Tellurium, Bioservices, Bioconductor, BioPython etc. is a plus;
Experience with git-tools and Linux is a plus;
Good communication and presentation skills;
Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.
