About EV Biotech:

EV Biotech is a biotechnology company that creates microbial production platforms for high-value chemicals and proteins using computational modelling and microorganisms. By combining classical fermentation methods with the latest developments in modelling approaches we have revolutionised the methods of microbial strain engineering. Our microbial cells factories (MCFs) provide effective, bio-based alternatives to conventional chemical-synthetic production processes. Our Groningen-based team has been operational since July 2018 and is dedicated to EV’s mission to evolve the chemical feedstock market by shifting it from petrochemical-based to bio-based chemical production, thereby creating a greener economy for all.

Scope of the position:

As HR Manager your role is to define, implement and update a sustainable HR strategy and to oversee all aspects of human resources practices and procedures in compliance with local regulation, HR group strategy, and business objectives. You are the main responsible for the job profiles, personal development plans and annual review cycle for all employees.

Translated into day-to-day responsibilities and tasks, you may think of:

  • Making appropriate changes to policies and procedures as required
  • Creating a positive work environment with a clear company culture
  • Facilitating in all aspects of growth for the company
  • Executing the onboarding process for new hires
  • Participating as an advisor to the leadership team
  • Supporting strategic projects and managing them from end-to-end as required
  • Setting up and maintaining the HRM system
  • Bearing responsibility for job profiles, personal development plans and annual review cycle
  • Ensuring legal compliance and keeping abreast of legal events and changes to regulations
  • Executing the recruitment strategy and planning
  • Participating in recruitment procedures
  • Responsibility for the HR strategy
  • Day-to-day HR management, including advising of staff members and handling conflict situations
  • Liaising with team resource managers about the wellbeing and functioning of team members, and the overall functioning of the respective team
  • Contributing to writing and updating of employee handbook

You have:

Being a strong HR Manager, you will recognise yourself in the following profile:

  • Previous experience as HR professional in a multilingual organisation. Experience in a start/scale-up is greatly welcomed
  • Well-versed in sustainable HR practices.
  • You love cooperating in a team
  • While displaying a great deal of initiative and proactivity
  • And displaying a strong command of the English language
