We are looking for a Data Architect
(32-40 h per week) to strengthen our Dry Lab team.

About EV Biotech:

EV Biotech is a biotechnology company that creates microbial production platforms for high-value chemicals and proteins using computational modelling and microorganisms. By combining classical fermentation methods with the latest developments in modelling approaches we have revolutionised the methods of microbial strain engineering. Our microbial cells factories (MCFs) provide effective, bio-based alternatives to conventional chemical-synthetic production processes. Our Groningen-based team has been operational since July 2018 and is dedicated to EV’s mission to evolve the chemical feedstock market by shifting it from petrochemical-based to bio-based chemical production, thereby creating a greener economy for all.

We are looking for a Data Architect to strengthen our Dry Lab team (32-40 h per week).

 

Scope of the position:

In this position, you will be responsible for the designing and building of EV’s graphical database used to store, organise, and connect all data generated by the Wet Lab and acquired by the Dry Lab. You will develop the Extract Transform Load process to make data easily accessible for complex analysis. You will work closely with the modelling team and software engineers.

 

You will:

  • Design, build, and maintain a graphical database to support data modelling and acquisition;
  • Collaborate with the Dry Lab to determine requirements and capabilities, strategise development and implementation of additional data generation tools;

  • Support graphical database users;

  • Aid in the development of the EV pipeline.

You have:

  • BSc in Data Science, Computer Science, Database Management Systems, or related field;
  • Minimally one year of data architecture experience;

  • Experience/Familiarity in Python, SQL, Cypher;

  • Experience/Familiarity with Neo4j,  Cloud Computing (GCP);

  • Good communication and presentation skills;

  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.
